About me

Natalie Wood MA, MBACP (Accred)

I am a BACP Accredited Integrative counsellor and clinical supervisor. My pronouns are she/they.

Alongside my clinical training, my background is in philosophy, which continues to shape how I think about therapy. I am interested not only in how we feel, but in questions of identity, meaning, and how we respond to the challenges and uncertainties of being human.

My Background

Before starting private practice, I worked as a therapist and Counselling Services Manager for METRO Charity, where I led a team supporting adults and young people across a range of services, including those identifying as LGBTQ+ and people living with HIV.

Prior to this, I worked as a mental health advocate and facilitated groups for people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, including those in crisis or living with more severe and enduring conditions.

More recently, I have worked as a clinical supervisor and consultant for mental health charities, supporting counsellors and frontline staff in their work. I am also a qualified teacher.

These experiences continue to inform my practice, particularly in relation to identity, relationships, and working with complexity.

How I think about therapy

I work in an integrative way, drawing on a range of perspectives including humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive approaches. I am also influenced by queer theory, feminist perspectives, narrative approaches and existential philosophy.

In practice, this means that I do not see therapy as a one-size-fits-all process. Instead, I aim to offer a space where we can think together about your experience in a way that feels meaningful and relevant to you.

I am particularly interested in how patterns develop in our lives and relationships, and how we might come to understand and respond to them differently over time.
